- Sharen D. Rooks is the founder of Rooks Enterprises. She currently serves as CEO/Founder of The Sharen Rooks Agency and former Public Relations for The Loretta McNary Show, in Memphis, Tennessee. She serves on the volunteer committee for the Southeast Shelby County for Obama in 2008. She is the former president of a local nonprofit tutorial organization, All About Kids Tutorial, Inc. She served as the Public Policy Speaker for National Association of Women Business Owners Memphis Chapter (NAWBO). Most recently, Sharen was the recipient of the prestigious achievement award “50 Women Who Make A Difference”(Memphis Women Magazine, July 2005.) Sharen has also been featured in two movies, 100 Lives written and directed by Phil Wallace (2008) and N-Secure written by Julius Lewis and Christie Taylor (2008).
She is a graduate of Melrose High School and received her CDA Certification in 2003. She is the author is “What Happens When God Moves, (released March 2005.) Sharen volunteers much of her time to education, outreach ministries, community activist for prisoners and many worthy causes such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Delta Sigma Theta, where she served as an honorary judge for the “Mother of the Year 2005” competition.
Sharen has been married to Minister Kevin Rooks for 15 years and together they have an adorable 12 year old son, Marquet. They are faithful members of Morning Chapel Missionary Baptist Church..
“What Happens When God Moves” is a true inspiration story about the life of a young woman and the many trials and tribulations she experiences over a decade of her life. All these circumstances develop this young entrepreneur into the powerful woman of God that she is today.
